Wicked Weeders 28th July

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all keeping warm! We have another community planting coming up on 8th August along Centennial Drive, so over the next couple of Tuesdays we'll be supporting Andrew to get the site looking its best and ready for the planting day. 🌱

We'll be checking over last year's planting, staking and straightening any plants that need a little support, grubbing out a few weeds, and then walking through the new planting area to clear away any branches and rubble.

The forecast is looking good after another cold, frosty start. The ground is uneven and steep in places, so please wear sturdy footwear, bring your gloves, and wrap up warm.

I'll bring the stakes, ties, mallets, grubbers, and of course, a tasty afternoon tea for everyone. 😊

Coming Up

🌱 Tuesday 4th August – We'll likely be back at the Centennial Drive planting site to continue getting everything ready for the community planting.

🌱 Friday 7th August – Planting site setup. We'll be spreading vermicast, placing plants throughout the site, and getting everything ready for the big day. The first plant delivery is expected around 8:00 am, with the second arriving around midday. Extra hands are always appreciated!

🌱 Saturday 8th August – Centennial Drive Community Planting from 11:00 am. Everyone is welcome to come along and help plant!

🌱 Tuesday 11th August – We'll return to the Centennial Drive planting site to check the new plants, making sure they're all settling in well after planting.
