Wicked Weeders 16th June

Hi all,

For tomorrow’s weeders, I’m hoping the expected rain will have passed by the time you all arrive 🌦️.

We have a few extra hands from Downers joining us tomorrow, so it should be a productive afternoon. The plan is to head to the Rangatira Park / Kahurangi planting site by the river. Hopefully, TDC have delivered a good amount of mulch for us to put around the plants. I would also like to fill in some gaps with a few plants. 😁

Planting was on the 26th of August 2023. Some mulch will really help these plants thrive 🌱

I’ll bring what’s needed to get the mulch around the plants, including buckets, a wheelbarrow, and shovels. Hutch will bring the auger for the holes. I’ll also bring the plants 🌳, fertiliser, and afternoon tea. Please remember your gloves, sturdy footwear, and a raincoat 😁.

I’ll unlock the gate at the Control Gates, but will keep it closed to manage access. Please open and close it behind you, then drive all the way along until you see us below Kahurangi Gully.
