Wicked Weeders 31st March🌱
Kia ora team,
It was great to have a group of Weedies head out to check out the incredible mahi that WW Grant has been doing in the Titoki Gully between Hyde Ave and Titoki Street. We were seriously impressed by the transformation of the area, such a huge effort! It was awesome to be able to lend a hand and release the native plants that are thriving within the gully and we got to eat cake 🎂

🌱 Plan for tomorrow – Tuesday 31 March
With the weather looking fabulous, we’ll be heading to the golf course planting area opposite the dog obedience club on Centennial Drive. A few woody weeds are starting to get away on us, so we’ll focus on some cut-and-paste.
Time: 9:30–11:30am
I’ll bring a selection of tools, including loppers and cut-and-paste gear, as well as the morning tea. Please bring gloves and wear sturdy footwear. With the good weather dont forget your hat and water, it should be another great morning out.
Access:
Park along Centennial Drive, the site is right alongside the road on the golf course. Please be careful crossing the road. You’ll need to walk through some long, thick grass to reach it. Please take care, as the grass can hide a few surprises, including a ditch and a broken fence line.

Saturday 4 April – Community Planting at Hatepe
You’re warmly invited to support the Mercer family as they plant 2,000 native plants at Hatepe. While this isn’t a Greening Taupō planting, we’re proud to support the incredible restoration journey begun by the late Chris Mercer and continued by his whānau. Planting starts at 1:30pm.

Saturday 11 April – Tauhara Maunga Community Planting & Hīkoi Track Opening (from 11am)
Greening Taupō is supporting this special event. It’s going to be a fantastic day, planting alongside the newly upgraded track. All are invited to join in!
