Wicked Weeders February 10th
Hi all🌱
It was fantastic to catch up with everyone last week. Thanks for joining us. Tomorrow, Tuesday 10th, we’ll be heading back to Crown Park behind the bike park, returning to the same area we worked in last week.
Kids Greening Taupō (KGT) are preparing for their first event of the year, “Show the Plants Love,” at this area on 17 February. This event will bring school students to the site to spread mulch, learn about planting natives, and understand how to care for them. Our focus tomorrow is to prepare the site so the students can mulch effectively. This will include cutting back grass (lawn mower and weed eater) and removing weeds throughout the site.
What to bring: Dress for the conditions, wear sturdy footwear, and bring gloves. We’ll have some tools available to tidy around the plants, and we’ll finish with morning tea. 🌿

Coming up in February
🌱 Tuesday 17th: Support Kids Greening Taupō at their mulching event at Crown Park
🌱 Tuesday 24th: We have gathered several seedlings throughout 2025, thanks to the kind care of Andrew Hilton. Many of these seedlings are now ready to be repotted, and it would be wonderful to have a few people join us for this task. Many hands will make light work of it! And if anyone has a seedling collection that they would like to donate to GT, please bring them along, and we will take care of them until they are ready to be planted in the ground.
