Wicked Weeders 20 October🌞

Hi all,

It certainly feels like summer has arrived early! Luckily, we’ve switched to mornings so we can get stuck in before the midday heat. ☀️

Tomorrow we’re heading to Wairakei Village to help Shawn tackle the last of the broom throughout the planting site. With its bright yellow flowers, it’s easy to spot this time of year. Shawn’s been working his way through the site and reckons we can finish off the remaining broom in one wicked session. It’ll be great to head home with a job well done!

Meet at the tennis courts off Kauri Drive, at the top of the hill, from 9:30–11:30am. Head into Wairakei Village from State Highway 1 and make your way up.

I’ll bring the loppers and morning tea. Please wear sturdy footwear, as we’ll be working off track, and remember your gardening gloves, sunhat and water bottle, it’s looking sunny! 🌿
