Wicked Weeders 12th August

Hi all.

For weeders this Tuesday, I know the plan was to head to the Spa Park planting site, but there is not much there that we can do till Friday. The new plan is to head to Hipapatua, where there is a bit we can do there to tidy up before the planting on the 30th of August.

🌳Releasing plants from the 2023 and 2024 planting

🌳Clearing the 2025 planting site of rubbish

🌳Tidying up stakes throughout the sites

🌳Cut n Paste any woody weeds throughout the site

I’ll bring a selection of tools and afternoon tea to share.

It should be fine, but it could be chilly and the ground can be damp underfoot, so make sure to wrap up warm and wear sturdy footwear.

Coming up:

🌱Friday 15th August: plants will be delivered to the Centennial planting Site at 830am and 12pm any support to unload and lay out the plants will be appreciated

🌱Saturday 16th August: Centennial / Spa park Community planting all invited from 11am

🌱Tuesday 19th August: Return to the Centennial / Spa park planting to check all plants have been correctly planted from 1230pm

The Centennial/Spa Park planting on the 16th of August is an extension of the 2025 site. On Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Tuesday 19th, park up opposite AC Baths next to the NZ Post depot and follow the track through the 2024 planting through to Spa Park and the 2025 site.
