Wicked Weeders 24th June
Hi all 🌱
Hope you all had a fabulous Matariki ✨ and enjoyed the beautiful long weekend.
Tomorrow, we’ll head back to the large 2025 Arbor Day planting site for one more visit to finish checking the last of the plants, along with some final staking and mulching. I reckon after tomorrow, we’ll be pretty much done with the plant checks. We’ll do as much mulching as we can, but we can always get some groups to help out with that over time.
🕐 12:30 – 2:45 pm
🧤 Bring your gloves and a spade if you’d like – I’ll bring some spades, mallets, ties, and there are plenty of buckets on-site for the mulch.
☀️ The weather’s looking sunny after a foggy or frosty start, so it might be a bit cool.
🧁 I’ll bring some afternoon tea!
Where: The site is alongside the Tauhara Golf Course, off Tauhara Road – just before the BP.
Winner winner chicken dinner! 🍗🎉 One of our awesome Wicked Weeders won third prize in the Greening Taupō Day Raffle!
Congratulations, Dr Nick Bradford! 🎉
Next week:
1st July from 12:30 pm – We’ll head to Hipapatua. It would be great to release the larger plants along the riverfront to the left and make some space for a few kahikatea that I’d like to plant with one of Greening Taupō’s partners. The picture shows the Hipapatua planting 2022 - Would love to see you all there
