Wicked Weeders 20th May

We had another fantastic planting day over the weekend—more than 100 people joined us, and once again we were lucky to have beautiful weather on our side ☀️. The rain that finally came on Sunday was also much needed for the new plants 🌧️.

A huge thanks to everyone who helped make the day run so smoothly. It all came together thanks to some awesome prep work—special shoutout to Andrew for the hours he put in getting the site looking great, and to Bike Taupō for their amazing support transporting plants and gear in and out. Ngā mihi nui!

We’ll return to the Rotary Ride planting site tomorrow (Tuesday) to tidy up and pop in a few extra plants where the gazebo was set up. The holes are already dug and the plants are on site, so it’ll be a quick planting mission.

I’ll bring along a few small spades, mallets, ties, fertiliser tabs and the afternoon tea. Dont forget your gloves and good footwear- it’s uneven and prickly
