Wicked Weeders29th April

Hope all are well

Just a reminder that from tomorrow, the Wicked Weeders meeting time is now 12:30 pm to 2:45 pm.

We'll be heading to the Upflow planting site on Wairakei Drive, there's a community planting event happening this Saturday. This planting will connect the 2024 planting with the 2023 area. Shawn has already prepared the site, and Seay's have kindly donated the hole-digging, which is happening today and tomorrow.

Tomorrow's tasks:

🌱Re-fill the planting holes and add some vermicast.

🌱Tidy up any rubbish into a pile.

🌱Cut and paste any weeds around the edges.

🌱Check the plants and stakes in both the 2023 and 2024 areas.

Bring your gardening gloves - we'll have buckets, small spades for the vermicast, loopers, paste, and mallets for straightening any stakes on a lean and the afternoon tea. We should be all good with the weather, with no rain expected 🌥️

Site directions:
The Upflow planting site is about 1.5 km up Wairakei Drive on the right-hand side, just before the large rest area. There is signage for Huka Jet opposite the entrance of the site. You can pull off the road and park easily on the grass alongside the road or drive through closer to the site.
