Wicked Weeders 22nd April
Hello Wicked Weeders,
Hope you all had a lovely Easter!
It looks like we’re in for a clear morning after a weekend of much-needed rain — great for the plants, maybe not ideal for the holidaymakers, but I was happy!
Tomorrow’s plan:
We’ll be planting some akeake that are ready to leave their pots. These will go on the bank along Kiddle Road, near the Kiddle/Birch intersection. It’s a bit of a slope, but we’ll focus on the lower section to make it easier. There’s also a small patch of blackberry we can cut and paste while we’re there. 🌳
I’ll bring:
🌱 Cut and Paste gel + loppers
🌱 Auger for digging holes
🌱 Plants
🌱 Vermicast and fertiliser tabs for each hole
🌱 A few spades
🌱 And of course — morning tea!
Please bring:
🧤 Gloves
🥾 Sturdy footwear
🌧 A raincoat (just in case my weather prediction is off!)
Meet at the Kiddle/Birch intersection. 930-12pm
Carefully come off the road, cross the footpath, and park on the grass area at the bottom of the bank, becareful there’s a ditch between the road and the footpath, and there may be other vehicles and people around.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
