Wicked Weeders 18 November

Only four more Wicked Weeder sessions until our summer break🏖️

I'm not sure what the rainis going to do. I reckon we will still be able to get out, but it could start raining earlier than expected. It probably isn't the best idea to proceed with cutting and pasting the broom as planned on Wairake Drive; we will come back to that another day. Therefore, the plan for Tuesday, November 18th, is to return to the new planting site at Spa Park near Centennial Drive, next to NZ Post. The plants there are overwhelmed by new blackberry growth, and since I can't get any chemical control in there for some time, it will be best to cut back the blackberry as much as possible to give the plants a chance.

Bring along your raincoat just in case, the blackberry is about knee-high, so cover up your legs to minimise scratches. If you have them, bring thick gloves to tackle the nasty blackberry. I do have some leather ones to share. I will also bring a few tools that could be helpful, including shears and snips and the morning tea.

930am-11.30 2025 Spa Park planting off Centennial Drive, next to NZ Post below the pines – remember the road closures and plan the best way to get here without the stress 😁

See you there

Thank you Hutch for the picture
