Wicked Weeders December 12th

It was another good day last Tuesday with the Wicked Weeders at the 2019 Arbor Day planting near the SPCA. The plants are looking great and we managed to deal to the last of the broom within the site and alongside the road. This just leaves the large bank, which we will leave to the experts. Thank you to all who came along 😊

For Wicked Weeders on Tuesday, December 12th, the weather looks good 🌤️ we will head to the 2023 planting alongside the river below Kahurangi Gully. We don’t need to do anything to the big planting site, as that is looking good just loads of dandelions. We could make the track through the planting clearer but our main aim will be to release the plants alongside the river, as they are getting a little bit swamped by the grass. There is also a bit of mulch at the beginning of the reserve; I will load some on the trailer and bring it along to the planting site to spread 🌳🌳🌳

I will bring a selection of tools, including grubbers, shears (I’m down to 3), a weed eater, a lawn mower and morning tea. Don’t forget your gloves, suitable footwear and sunhat😁

930am–1130am Turn into Control Gates Park at the traffic lights on Wairakei Drive, I will unlock the gate and have it open while I’m loading up with mulch. I will close the gate but leave it unlocked when I head further along to the planting site.
