Wicked Weeders December 5th

It was a fantastic gathering last Tuesday with ADDI, Nui students, and the Wicked Weeders; we got so much done. Thank you to all who came along. We found mostly all the plants under the convolvulus, released them, and staked them. And you will be pleased to know that Peter Marshall has returned recently and sprayed all around the plants

For Wicked Weeders Tuesday, December 5th, the weather looks a little bit unpredictable. But before all the broom flowers disappear, I am keen to do one session with the weeders at the SPCA 2019 Arbor Day planting site. It’s not everyone’s favourite site but it is doing amazing; it's just that broom that keeps coming back. I will be following up with Peter to get it nailed.

I also have a couple of trays of plants that need to be in the ground. They just keep coming but I promise this is the last of the plants 🌳🌳🌳

I will bring the plants and a selection of tools, including spades, loopers, paste and morning tea. Don’t forget your gloves. The ground is uneven, so suitable footwear is needed. It could be sunny, cloudy or a passing downpour, so be prepared for all 😁

930am–1130am Turn into Owen Delany Park, then right towards SPCA. Park alongside the road just before the SPCA building

Harnoor and Lynn were at the 2018 SPCA Arbor Day site last week, plants have grown well, and we are slowly chipping away at the broom.

Corrections dealt to loads of the broom along the roadside; this has made a big difference.

The plan for the next week: (but could change)

12th December - Releasing the plants alongside the river at Kahurangi

19th December - Thank you Lunch :)
