Wicked Weeders from 930am Tueday 10th October

Hi all,

We will get into our summer hours starting at 930 and wrapping up before it gets too warm at about 1130 a.m., This Tuesday we will head to Hipapatua, previously known as Ried’s Farm. I have some ribbonwoods and Manukau left at the nursery; they need to get into the ground before it gets too warm and dry.

I will bring all the plants down to the more established site along the river, and we will get them planted. I will also bring the fertiliser tablets, some spades plus the auger and the morning tea.

Park up by the amenities near the river

This area is wet underfoot in places, so gumboots could be a good choice; cover-up as it is a bit scratchy and bees and wasps are starting to be active; and bring a hat as it looks like a nice sunny day tomorrow.

See you all at 930am

Following week

17th October: Karatoto Rd site opposite the Honey Hive, This is a site that we plan to plant next year. To make maintenance on this site easier, we plan to grass it. On Tuesday, we will remove any material that may damage a mower and then spread some seed. If anyone has a hand-held seed spreader, bring it along.
