Wicked Weeders 25 August

Hi all,

I had a great week on leave, and I'm looking forward to getting back into it with the Wicked Weeders and our last two community plantings for the season coming up in September. 🌱

This Tuesday, from 12:30 pm, we'll spend a couple of hours at Hipapatua checking over the areas we've previously planted up along the top. A few of the jobs can be:

🌳 Clearing branches from an area we're preparing for planting
🌳 Tidying up stakes and tying any plants that need a little support
🌳 Cutting and pasting any woody weeds we find throughout the sites

I'll bring a selection of tools and, of course, afternoon tea to share.

It should be a nice fine day. The ground can be damp underfoot and uneven in places, so please wear sturdy footwear and don't forget your gloves.

📍 Hipapatua (previously known as Reid's Farm) off Huka Falls Road. We'll be working around the planting area at the top winter campground. There are a few campers in there at the moment that we do need to work around. 1230pm - 230pm

🌱 Tuesday 1 September We'll see how we get on this week and whether there's any more work needed at Hipapatua before the planting.

🌱 Friday 4 September – We'll be setting up the site and laying out plants ready for Saturday's community planting. We could really use some extra hands for this one, so if you're available from 10 am, your help would be very much appreciated.

🌱 Saturday 5 September‍ ‍Community Planting at Hipapatua. You're all welcome to come along and join us from 11am. ☺️

🌱 Tuesday 8 September We'll head back to the new planting site to check over all the plants and make sure they're settling in nicely.
