Wicked Weeders 30th June
Hi all,
We had a fantastic planting on Saturday at the Owen Delany Gully, with a great turnout of 150 volunteers helping plant 2000 plants and spread the mulch. Thank you to everyone who helped support this planting. It was a great success.
For tomorrow's wicked weeders session, we will head back to the Owen Delany Gully planting site to check all the plants, making sure they are settling in the ground well – not too deep, not too shallow, and healed in nicely. And to spread a little bit of mulch around.
The weather looks good. Bring your garden gloves and wear good footwear. There’s a bit of uneven ground.
Time: 12:30–2:45 PM
Owen Delany Gully, Centennial Drive. We will park up on the southern side of the gully. Not the SPCA side. (The side of the gully that has the overbridge next to it).
I’ll bring along some ties, mallets, a couple of spades, buckets and, of course, some afternoon tea to share.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Below are a couple of photos from the setup and the planting day at Owen Delany Gully.
Coming up
7th July - We have been delivered 4000 bamboo stakes out at the Broadlands Geothermal Planting site, next to the Taupo Golf Club. So we will start putting those in throughout the planting site.
