Wicked Weeders 3 November

Hi all,

Thanks for all your help over the last couple of Tuesdays tackling the broom at the Wairakei Village planting site. We certainly gave Shawn a hand by knocking back a good amount of the remaining broom! 🌿

Tomorrow we’re heading to Hipapatua to get the last of the plants from the container into the ground. 🌱 Previously known as Reids Farm off Huka Falls Road.

Meet down the bottom, beside the river, from 9:30–11:30am.

I’ll bring the plants, fertiliser tablets, spades and some grubbers. We may need to clear a little grass before planting, and you can get stuck into some releasing while I auger the holes.

Please wear sturdy footwear, as we’ll be working off track, and bring your gardening gloves, sunhat and a coat so you’re ready for whatever the weather brings! ☀️🌦️

A few wasps have already been spotted around plants at some of our sites, so we’ll keep an eye out as we work and be super careful when pulling weeds away from the native plants.

See you there!
