Wicked Weeders from 9.30am

Hi all,

It’s not looking too flash for Weeders tomorrow, with rain expected from early in the morning🌦️. However, I have a few plants left over from the season and would love to fill in some gaps within the Rangatira Park / Kahurangi planting site. It’s perfect weather for getting plants in the ground, so I will leave the decision up to you guys if you want to join me and Hutch 😁

If you do come along, I’d also like to spread some fertiliser around the plants, as a few are looking like they need a boost, another good wet weather job. There’s also some releasing to do, particularly along the riverbank and around the edges of the larger site, to keep it clear and visible for the lawnmower. It will likely be too wet for rabbit repellent and Cut n Pasting any of the broom that is popping up throughout the site.

I’ll bring along a selection of tools (grubbers, shears and releasing tools), and Hutch will have the auger for the holes. I’ll also bring the plants🌳, fertiliser, and morning tea. Please remember your gloves, sturdy footwear, and a raincoat 😁.

I’ll unlock the gate at the Control Gates, but will keep it closed to manage access. Please open and close it behind you, then drive all the way along until you see us below Kahurangi Gully.

Tuesday 14th October: We may need to return here to finish things off if the weather doesn’t allow us to get everything done. 🌳
