Project Birdlife - Taupō Golf Club
Greening Taupō has partnered up with the Taupō Golf Club on Project Birdlife. This is an exciting restoration Project focused on the areas at and surrounding the grounds of the Taupō Golf Club.
Project Birdlife is an initiative that began over 10 years ago with a vision to improve areas at and surrounding the Taupō Golf Club primarily for wildlife habitat. This project helps fulfill the wider Greening Taupō community objective of creating and maintaining wildlife corridors between Tauhara and the Waikato River.
The First Planting - March 2021
Greening Taupō kicked off the 2021 Planting Season with a community planting day at Taupō Golf Club as part of Project Birdlife.
With over 120 people in attendance, the 1,700 plants were planted quickly, with some being mulched, and watered too. Thanks to Trees That Count for the donation of 500 of the beautiful trees and a big thanks to student helpers from Kids Greening Taupō for their assistance with the execution of this event.
The Greening Taupō Wicked Weeders headed back on site shortly after for some post planting care and the team at the Taupō Golf Club have been looking after the site since. It’s looking great!
We need your help to keep up the good work!
More planting sites at Taupō Golf Club have been identified and we are ready to rally the community again to plant and care for the newly planted native trees but we need your help to raise the funds to do so! Just follow the prompts above to make a one-off or annual donation.
Your donation will be gratefully appreciated and you can be assured that 100% of your donated funds will go directly to planting at the Taupō Golf Club.
