First Community Planting Sunday 28th April

🌳🌿Join us for a celebration of community and nature at the first Greening Taupō community planting of the 2024 season, as part of the Love Taupō Trail Festival 🌳🌿

The Love Taupō Trail Festival has decided to make trees the currency of their festival! For every pair of shoes (big or small) and wheel that crosses a finish line in any of their events, a native tree will be planted.

Set a reminder for this Sunday, April 28th, at 2 pm. Right after the Craters Trail Run Prize Giving at the hub area, all are invited to head down the Honey Trail to plant all those trees and make a tangible difference in our environment. 🌱 Everyone is welcome to come along and help with putting the trees into the ground.

The planting site is opposite the Huka Honey Hive, 65 Karetoto Rd. An area that was greatly affected by Cyclone Gabrielle, it has all been tidied up and is ready for replanting with native plants 🌳

You can park at the hub beforehand and soak up the Love Taupō Trail Festival vibes and then walk along the honey trail that will take you straight to the planting site or you are welcome to park at the Huka Honey Hive and walk across the road to the planting site.

Wear your gumboots, and bring along your garden gloves and a spade if you wish, there will be holes dug.  Please bring suitable wet weather gear if required; we will be planting in rain or shine🌤️

Come one, come all, Let's finish this amazing weekend and start the planting season on a high note by creating a greener, more beautiful, and healthier place for all. See you there!
