Wicked Weeders 10th September

A big thank you to everyone who joined the Wicked Weeders session last week for Conservation Week💚It was a fantastic effort, and we managed to move a lot of mulch, leaving the site looking great. The plants will love it, especially with summer not too far away 🌞
Not too sure what the weather is going to bring us tomorrow, possibly just a few quick passing showers and nothing to worry about between 12.30-2.45 pm for Wicked Weeders🌤️The Plan for tomorrow is to head to Hipapatua and check over last year’s planting site alongside Huka Falls Road.🌳 We have another community planting at the Winter Camp site on Saturday and it would be great to have last year’s planting looking good. We will take away any stakes that aren’t required and tidy up the ones that are. We will do some releasing, but there shouldn’t be much, as the plants were released and sprayed at the end of summer. I will bring a weedeater and the lawn mower to tidy the edges.

There could be limited room to park at the site, alternatively, park safely down towards the river.
Remember your gardening gloves, strudy footwear and best to bring your raincoat just in case, and bring any tools that may be helpful. I will bring some grubbers, ties for stakes, a weedeater, the lawnmower and the afternoon tea.🍰
Coming up:
🌿13th of September A slight change of plans. The first load of plants is being delivered Thursday and the second will be delivered at 9 am on Friday. If you are keen to come at 9 am on Friday, awesome; if not, I do have around 10 students from Tauhara College helping at 10 am It would be great to get additional support from 10 am to start laying out the plants and help supervise the students and me
🌿14th of September Community Planting from 11am. Everyone is welcome.
🌿17th of September We will head back to the planting site at Hipapatua to finish off anything that got forgotten and check all the plants. All plants will need to be staked from 1230pm
