Mark in your calendars - Saturday 22nd April Thermal Explorer Highway, Sunday 21st May Thermal Explorer Highway, Sunday 18th June Thermal Explorer Highway, 1st July for the Contact Energy Planting Day and Sunday 3rd September for the annual Whakaipo Bay Planting. Dust them gumboots off again for another amazing planting season!

Saturday 4th June Paddy's Bridge, Rotary Ride, 2nd July for the Contact Energy Planting Day and Sunday 11th September for the annual Whakaipo Bay Planting and to wrap it all up 18th September Wairakei Drive.   • Fantastic news - Greening Taupo has been successful in securing funding from the Waikato Catchment Ecological Enhancement Trust (WCEET) - a total amount of $100,000 over 5 years has been granted. This will allow Greening Taupo to work in partnership with Bike Taupo to “kick start” the restoration work necessitated on the Waikato River Trench Project.

  • A huge thank you for the generous contributions received from the Tindal Foundation, Waikato Regional Council and the Department of Conservation in supporting the upcoming Whaikaipo Bay planting day to be held on 30th August 2015 This community planting day is in its 27th year and is always a great day out for everyone so come along and make a difference to the environment.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated part time Education Coordinator for a new and exciting Conservation Education programme, Kids Greening Taupō. You will be working closely with early childhood, primary, secondary schools and community to support the programme and their student leadership team.

  • The next Whakaipo planting day is set for Sunday 17th August from 10am. DOC and Greening Taupo carry on the tradition of annual planting at Whakaipo Bay. For the past four years Living Legends have supported this project and thousands of trees have been planted in this time. Bring the family out to enjoy this day and make a difference to our environment. We look forward to seeing you out there.

  • Living Legends(The Tindall Foundation) has decided to continue to fund 6 planting sites in NZ and our very own Whakaipo Bay has been chosen as one of those sites! This community planting day will now be a joint partnership with Greening Taupo, Department of Conservation and Living Legends. Greening Taupō has been established to improve the Taupō environment for the people and native wildlife - it's an opportunity to participate in a community conservation initiative.  Find out more or learn about 'the value of trees'
