Lakeshore (DOC)

Establish islands of vegetation along the lakeshore reserves of groves of kowhai trees, under-planted with cliff flax and other small growing, drought tolerant species. These would be designed to consider both the safety of walkway users and the views of local residents. The District Council considers that this project will need a strong involvement from local residents to make it work. It is an ideal project to promote to Taupo Forest and Bird and the community garden to restore Taupo’s lakeshore kowhai.
